don't use mkinitramfs-kpkg vestiges.
preinst and postinst needed a bit of surge to not call
the old mkinitramfs-kpkg interfaces. just check which initramfs
binary is around and call them.
they support all relevant linux-2.6 versions.

This enables parallel port, so loads of stuff is pulled in.
