Specifies a space-delimited list of hosts that the fetcher
is allowed to use to obtain the required source code.
Following are considerations surrounding this variable:
<itemizedlist>
<listitem><para>
This host list is only used if
<link linkend='var-BB_NO_NETWORK'><filename>BB_NO_NETWORK</filename></link>
is either not set or set to "0".
</para></listitem>
<listitem><para>
Limited support for wildcard matching against the
beginning of host names exists.
For example, the following setting matches
<filename>git.gnu.org</filename>,
<filename>ftp.gnu.org</filename>, and
<filename>foo.git.gnu.org</filename>.
<literallayout class='monospaced'>
BB_ALLOWED_NETWORKS = "*.gnu.org"
</literallayout>
</para></listitem>
<listitem><para>
Mirrors not in the host list are skipped and
logged in debug.
</para></listitem>
<listitem><para>
Attempts to access networks not in the host list
cause a failure.
</para></listitem>
</itemizedlist>
Using <filename>BB_ALLOWED_NETWORKS</filename> in
conjunction with
<link linkend='var-PREMIRRORS'><filename>PREMIRRORS</filename></link>
is very useful.
Adding the host you want to use to
<filename>PREMIRRORS</filename> results in the source code
being fetched from an allowed location and avoids raising
an error when a host that is not allowed is in a
<link linkend='var-SRC_URI'><filename>SRC_URI</filename></link>
statement.
This is because the fetcher does not attempt to use the
host listed in <filename>SRC_URI</filename> after a
successful fetch from the
<filename>PREMIRRORS</filename> occurs.
