<note>

If you experience a NullPointer Exception after
launch Eclipse or the debugger from within Eclipse,
try adding the following
to your <filename>eclipse.ini</filename> file,
which is located in the directory in which you
unpacked the Eclipse tar file:
<literallayout class='monospaced'>
--launcher.GTK_version
2
</literallayout>
Alternatively, you can export the
<filename>SWT_GTK</filename> variable in your
shell as follows:
<literallayout class='monospaced'>
$ export SWT_GTK3=0
</literallayout>
