Mark Hatle 469a4b9d8a gzip: Use update-alternatives class 
Switch to using the update-alternatives class.  Need this for
consistency and to ensure the necessary package provides get set.

Khem Raj a0dc330b4a recipes: Delete patch=1, its default and replace pnum with striplevel 
Some place pnum=1 is used which is removed as well since
striplevel=1 is default
