When using systemd as init rng-tools is causing a circular dependency
between units,
[ 7.706250] systemd[1]: basic.target: Found ordering cycle on
basic.target/start
[ 7.706934] systemd[1]: basic.target: Found dependency on

deleting job rng-tools.service/start
[ 7.710404] systemd[1]: rng-tools.service: Job rng-tools.service/start
deleted to break ordering cycle starting with basic.target/start
The problem is related to systemd running sysvinit scripts by default
add dependency of basic.target for sysvinit script so when sysvscript
is at rcS is added also as dependency of sysinit.target causing a
cirular dependency in this case: basic.target -> sysinit.target ->
rng-tools.service -> basic.target.

Otherwise the nss libs do not get any RPATH/RUNPATH. Consequently, the
.so dependencies of nss libs are always searched from the base lib
directories of the host (i.e. /lib/ and /usr/lib). This causes problems
with nss-native where the .so's should be searched from the base lib
directories of the sysroot instead of the host file system.
This particular problem has probably been unnoticed as most users are
likely to have nss libraries installed on their host system. In this
case everything most likely work as expected.

Enable Unicode properties by default, as they're useful and for example GLib
needs them. As there is an impact to code size add this as a PACKAGECONFIG so
tightly constrained environments can save space by potentially disabling them.
Also change --enable-utf8 to --enable-utf, as the former is a compatibility
option for the latter.

* Version 3.4.9 (released 2016-02-03)
** libgnutls: Corrected ALPN protocol negotiation. Before GnuTLS would
negotiate the last commonly supported protocol, rather than the
first. Reported by Remi Denis-Courmont (#63).
** libgnutls: Tolerate empty DN fields in informational output
functions.
** libgnutls: Corrected regression causes by incorrect fix in
gnutls_x509_ext_export_key_usage() at 3.4.8 release.
** API and ABI modifications:

The ptest-runner 2.0 is C written program for run ptests of
Yocto/Openembedded, is fully compatible with previous version of
ptest-runner that was a shell script that runs ptests sequencially.
The mainly reason for the new ptest-runner in C is because is designed
for run in tiny systems also the old shell script version have problems
when certain ptest hang it becomes blocked indefinitely.
Now the ptest-runner 2.0 support the next features:
- Specify the directory for search ptests.
- List available ptests.
- Specify the timeout for avoid blocking indefinetly.
- Only run certain ptests.
Proposed features:
- Adds support for per ptest output file.
- Adds support for run ptests in parallel (review possible
colisions in ptests).

Due to the version update to 1.59.0, the two patches previously
backported in this recipe are now dropped. The actual status of
the arm-intrinsics.patch (reported with Upstream-Status: Backport)
is unknown to the committer, and hence, that patch is kept in the
recipe, even if it is possibly not required anymore. A deeper
analysis is required to determine need and status of that patch.
Second, boost 1.59.0 provides a new library, called timer,
which is packaged as further library in the boost recipe. The
update to boost 1.60.0 required no further changes beyond
changing the checksum hashes.
Third, on PPC architectures, qemuppc & mpc8315e-rdb [1] (tested

To ensure that boost remains an empty metapackage after version
updates, we explicitly require boost files to be empty. If new
libraries exist after a version update of the boost recipe,
bitbake will emit a warning at the do_package task. For example,
at the version update from 1.58.0 to 1.59.0, the new timer
library is indicated with:
WARNING: QA Issue: boost: Files/directories were installed but not shipped in any package:
/usr/lib/libboost_timer.so.1.59.0
Please set FILES such that these items are packaged. Alternatively if they are unneeded, avoid installing them or delete them within do_install.
boost: 1 installed and not shipped files. [installed-vs-shipped]
Ross Burton suggested this improvement on the openembedded-core

When using `PACKAGECONFIG = "python"` in the boost recipe, `bitbake boost`
fails at do_compile with:
./boost/python/detail/wrap_python.hpp:50:23: fatal error: pyconfig.h: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.
This issue is due to the recent version upgrade from python 3.4 to 3.5:
701ec1977ced1bb08461e6de98b4f63d21cba8a6 python3: Upgrade from 3.4.3 to 3.5
The boost.inc file modifies the boost build configuration with a path
containing the python3 major version, which is hard-coded in the boost.inc
file. Hence after the python3 update, the path points to the outdated
location and it needs to be updated to the new location.
This issue was unrevealed by an internal continuous integration system
for the meta-ros application layer. Further manual bisecting lead to the
critical commit 701ec1977ced1bb08461e6de98b4f63d21cba8a6.

The gettext 0.16.1 doesn't install any m4 files to sysroot, please see

Author: Christopher Larson <kergoth@gmail.com>
Date: Mon Mar 17 18:10:54 2014 +0000
gettext-0.16.1: kill target m4 macros from sysroot
This is aim for using gettext-native's macros(gettext-native-0.19.4),
but when we set:
PREFERRED_VERSION_gettext = "0.16.1"
And build the recipes like pcmanfm, we would get errors when
do_configure:
configure:5164: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_NLS
This is because autotools_copy_aclocals doesn't copy the native macros
for target unless they're direct dependencies.
Add gettext-native to DEPENDS will fix the problem.

gmp 4.2.1 was removed in f181c6ce8b apparently accidentally: It
was not noticed that 4.2.1 is LGPL 2.1 (and not GPL) so provides
a useful alternative to the newer "GPLv2 | LGPLv3" version.
* Reintroduce 4.2.1. The source includes files that are GPL but the
library package is LGPL 2.1+
* Also reintroduce the two patches removed in f181c6ce8b.
* Refactor gmp.inc: gmp 6.0.0 build should not be affected in any way.

The libcap-ng library is intended to make programming with posix
capabilities much easier than the traditional libcap library.
It's not a replacement to libcap, it provides different library
(libcap-ng.so) while packages explicitly look for libcap.so. It
could be used by qemu, util-linux, libvirt, audit ...
With adding it to oe-core, the copies from following layers could
be removed:
* meta-oe, meta-selinux, meta-security-framework ...

oe-core 51540b64f62234c145fc32cfa3fbbaaebbeece08 altered libcap.inc (at the
time) to append to EXTRA_OEMAKE rather than assign to it. The default value
for EXTRA_OEMAKE contains "-e". This means that the change caused "-e" to
be passed to make for the first time.
Unfortunately passing "-e" subtly changes the behaviour of libcap's
Make.Rules under recursive make when prefix="" (which it is for us since
we're using meta-micro.)
Without "-e" the prefix comes from the command line in both the parent and
submakes. This takes precedence over any attempt to reassign it with a
simple "=" operation so the headers are correctly installed in (empty
string)/include.
With "-e" the prefix still comes from the command line in the parent make
but from the environment in the submake. The attempt to assign it fails in
the parent make as before, but not in the submake so the headers are
installed incorrectly in /usr/include.
In all four cases the "ifdef prefix" else clause is executed.
So, let's assign EXTRA_OEMAKE in order to avoid using "-e" at all.

--dbpath option can be used in cases where users don't want
createrepo to use system rpm db to avoid possible collisiouns
with other programs.
For bitbake builds it would be possible to specify different
databases even for every createrepo run. Considering that rootfs
builds can run multiple createrepo in parallel, it can help to avoid
race conditions caused by accessing or creating the same rpm database
by multiple createrepo instances at the same time.
