For machines with no hardware clock it makes no sense to have this
init stript. Moreover, we avoid a boot error in this way.

* There would be race issue if we put the lock to the WORKDIR, for
example:
bitbake core-image-sato core-image-sato-sdk
If the lock is in their own WORKDIR, the apt-rootfs.conf and
Packages.gz maybe be written by two tasks at the same time, which
would cause unexpected errors.
* Create ${target_rootfs}/etc since the "tar -C" needs it.
Note:
* The rpm has put the lock to DEPLOY_DIR_RPM
* The ipk doesn't need it since it has locks for each deploy directory
and put the opkg.conf in his own WORKDIR, which doesn't like deb put
the apt-rootfs.conf in ${STAGING_ETCDIR_NATIVE}/apt/.

openssh: openssh's init fails to restart if sshd is not running
Because of "set -e", it's necessary to specify the -o (or --oknodo)
so that start-stop-daemon returns an exit status of 0 if no actions
are taken.

During an attemptonly install, if you try to install two packages that
conflict with each other, a message is generated:
error: Failed dependencies:
dropbear conflicts with openssh-6.0p1-r4.ppc603e
dropbear conflicts with openssh-sshd-6.0p1-r4.ppc603e
This is placed onto stderr (vs stdout), which was not being redirected.
This allowed the log-check code to find the magic key of "Failed" causing
the package installation process to fail. Instead the proper behavior is to
simply ignore the error and proceed with the install.

This fixes a case when RPATH embedded in program have one of
its path already relative to ORIGIN. We were losing that path
if such a path existed. This patch appends it to the new edited
rpath being created when we see it.
so RPATH like below
(RPATH) Library rpath:
[$ORIGIN/../lib/amd64/jli:$ORIGIN/../jre/lib/amd64/jli]
would end up being empty
but after this patch its kept intact

When chrpath fails, prefix the error message with the name of the recipe

The copying for rules.mk was happened in do_configure_prepend, but it will be
replaced by the one generated by configure, in which APR_MKEXPORT points to
the workdir of apr and cause compile filure when the workdir of apr is removed.
So change the copying in _prepend to _append.

When building the meta-toolchain, the binaries didn't get relocatable
RPATHs. They were hardcoded to the default path. Hence, if one had
already installed one SDK in the default path and one in another
location, the later toolchain's binaries would search and load libraries
from the first location, ending in a "Segmentation Fault".

The problem appears if multiple setup environment scripts are found. In
order to find only the script we're interested in, I removed globbing in
matching pattern with ${REAL_MULTIMACH_TARGET_SYS} that will be expanded
to the correct string.
Also, fix a problem when changing the scripts/configs. The grep pattern
matched also files that contained "text" in their name.

It turns out that the result of getVarFlags is not a list, it's
a dict. So "getVarFlags(...) or []" does not reliably produce
something with a .items. This escaped detection because our
local build environment never ends up running builds without
PNBLACKLIST entries.

kernel.bbclass is a common class for many different kernel versions,
and as such the default module_autoload and module_conf values that
it contains are not relevant, or out of date for most builds.
Individual kernel recipes or distros can better specify these
values to meet their needs.

The PIDFILE (/var/run/dbus/pid) referenced by /etc/init.d/dbus-1 did
not match the path (/var/run/messagebus.pid) configured in
/etc/dbus-1/system.conf, so the initscript could start the daemon, but
not stop it. Also remove needless directory ownership logic
(dbus-daemon drops its pid file as root before calling setuid).

The PNBLACKLIST feature does not currently work with multilibs,
because they have different ${PN}. The obvious thing to do is to
do this at the same point that we do the PREFERRED_PROVIDER
and PREFERRED_VERSION fixups. (Making the PNBLACKLIST check
do the for-each-multilib check requires it to do the multilib
list generation repeatedly.)

Fix the warning form pcmciautils building:
"WARNING: QA Issue: pcmciautils: /sbin/pccardctl, installed in the

'at' needs flex to generate source file lex.yy.c, but it doesn't
depend on flex-native directly; This maybe cause a do_compile
failure if flex-native is not built or included in project.

If gtk+ is added to core-image-minimal, postinstall script failed on boot:
Running postinst /etc/rpm-postinsts/104...
gtk-update-icon-cache: No theme index file.
ERROR: postinst /etc/rpm-postinsts/104 failed.
This patch fixed the postinstall script to check for the icon
file first and not run the gtk-update-icon-cache if no icon
is installed.

1.The included libav configure is not generated by autotools
modify recipe to use correct toolchain wrapper with configure
2.add bzip2 dependency explicitly.
or configure will detect whether libbz2 is installed, if bzip2
is triggered earlier then it will be detected, if not then won't
3.backport libav_e500mc.patch from upstream to patch configure to
disable-altivec if it is e500mc.
4.move the GSTREAMER_DEBUG to libav's configure, it is not the
option for the main configure.

The line 'sed -i "s+${WORKDIR}+${STAGING_INCDIR}+g" tclConfig.sh'
is commented somehow in previous commit, so that TCL_SRC_DIR
point to the tcl workdir which will cause package that use it
fail to configure or compile when the tcl workdir is removed,
so uncomment it back.

On my system (core-image-base, .deb package files), run-postinsts does
not run any scripts due to a failed test in run-postinsts.awk.
As dpkg is not actually installed on target, opkg is identified as the
pkgdir and that is not right...

We need to call rpmcliInit to ensure the rpm relocation code is called
and it correctly honours the relocation environmental variables.

We had added the --disable-curl to EXTRA_OECONF, but there is an
EXTRA_OECONF_virtclass-nativesdk += "foo", the
"EXTRA_OECONF_virtclass-nativesdk +=" equals to
"EXTRA_OECONF_virtclass-nativesdk =" (the "+" has no effect here), so we
should add the "--disable-curl" to EXTRA_OECONF_virtclass-nativesdk.
And change the "+=" to "=" to not confuse people.

This problem appears on F17 when configure finds /bin/perl, since the beh
script is a target side script, we need to set PERL in the do_configure_prepend
in order for the correct perl to be used

The target sysroot might contain sdt.h but we don't list this in DEPENDS
and shouldn't be referencing it. Unfortunately there is no way to tell
configure this since these tests are uncached and we can't force
a particular value. The only option is therefore to patch this out.

iputils drops a /bin/arping with a runtime linkage against libsysfs in
/usr. Port Fedora 17 iputils-20071127-infiniband.patch, which inlines
access previously done by libsysfs.

On non-gplv3 builds, gdbm gets built different due to the different version
which triggers a different codepath in python's db support and then hence
triggers an invalid RPATH QA issue. This change extends the appropriate patch
to cover the code paths we need it to cover and avoid adding the problematic
RPATH.

Add in a workaround to avoid host infection detection build failures
from the slang include directory in perf. I'll defer to Bruce to
fix this properly but we need a workaround now as this is breaking
builds.

I was checking ways to make incremental builds faster so I started using
sstate-cache and SSTATE_MIRRORS. But this gave me some nasty bug:

I checked details:
In my previous build libtirpc got built before libpam so libpam found it
and linked. As a result packages depend on libtirpc1 but as there is no
such build dependency sstate handling code did not used libtirpc copy...

If ${PN} is not in PACKAGES then don't add it as an RDEPENDS for each

Always write the metadata revisions for each layer into a machine-
readable "metadata-revs" file so that you can potentially link changes
in the output back to changes in the metadata. (Unlike the existing
similar build-id file, this is not specific to image changes.)

Save PKG (the actual output package name, which is often different due
to debian renaming), and PKGE/PKGV/PKGR (which may be manipulated in
certain special cases e.g. gitpkgv.bbclass in meta-oe, the
external-sourcery-toolchain recipe, etc.) Note that these are only
written when they are different from the normal package name in the
case of PKG, or PE/PV/PR for the other variables.
Also, use PKGE/PKGV/PKGR instead of PE/PV/PR when comparing package
versions since these actually represent the version that the package
manager sees.

Remove the ability to set BUILDHISTORY_KEEP_VERSIONS = "1" to save the
package history as flat versioned files rather than relying on git to
keep previous versions of the package information. git has proven to
work quite well in this capacity.

_bsddb module in python 2.7 could be built only with db version
between 4.1 and 4.7. A patch was added to avoid build warning
about this for [YOCTO #1937] but not actually fixed it.
This patch enable _bsddb module be built with db 5.3, and remove
--disable-statistics from the DB5_CONFIG to fix segmentation fault
when using _bsddb module in python.

when we build for nativesdk it needs tools from installed
glib-2.0-dev package. We zeroes out compile_resourses but
then genmarshal came up so instead of going about disabling
them one by one lets depend on glib-2.0-native since
thats the right thing to do.

Now that we have moved the rpm-createsolvedb.py
script to createrepo-native for good reason of
python-native dependency, we have to make sure
that it is staged before its used, unlike before
where it was under scripts/ dir and always existed
outside the realm of package management.

tclConfig.sh is changed in do_install for cross compile and
is installed to STAGING_BINDIR_CROSS, but if SSTATE_DIR is set
and tcl is from sstage, tclConfig.sh can't be found in
STAGING_BINDIR_CROSS, add ${bindir_crossscripts}/tclConfig.sh
to sysroot stage can fix it.

This patch fixes parallel install issue that lib libpixbufloader-png.la
depends on libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.la which will be regenerated during insta-
llation, if libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.la is regenerating and at the same time
libpixbufloader-png.la links it, the error will happen.
Error message is:
* usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lgdk_pixbuf-2.0
* collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
Make an explicit dependency to the libs install targets would fix this
issue.

The du-k-works test seems to assume that du -k on a directory with two files
totaling 80 kilobytes should report either 80k or 88k. In ext4 filesystm however,
both busybox' du -k and coreutils' du -k reports a size of 84k which causes the
test to fail.

If we don't do this, a stale limits.h may be detected in STAGING_DIR_TARGET
which would result in a different limits.h getting generated by gcc-cross-initial
that references it. The referenced limits.h will then not get found by eglibc-initial
causing rather strange build failures.
The simplest solution is to create a temporary sysroot containing only the things
gcc-cross-initial should care about and this results in a correct limits.h file
regardless of what else may have been built.

RP: The list of recipes in multilib.conf needs to go away and we need
to just be able to extend all recipes with the multilib class.
Tested by building and running lib32-core-image-sato-sdk.

Some patches (disable_goops_optimizations, fix_cross_compilation) don't
seem to be needed anymore. Others (change-install-data-hook, mark-unused-modules)
were updated to work on 2.0.6. Tested by building and running guile under
QEMU with core-image-sato-sdk and also builing guile on MIPS.

udhcpc is invoked from the networking service, so it shouldn't exist
standalone. If /etc/init.d/busybox-udhcpc is present, it will cause
udhcpc to be started two times.
And since the script doesn't support the stop action, it will cause
udhcpc to be started even when system is being shutdown.
Remove /etc/init.d/busybox-udhcpc to resolve the issues.

dbus-x11 should not RPROVIDE dbus-x11 as this is incorrect and confuses
builds. This fixes the nativesdk case.

--install-lib= is required to be passed via distutils install
otherwise the install location gets set to whatever the python-native
location is.

Most of the code in relocatable.bbclass will be used for relocating the
SDK binaries. So, create another class chrpath.bbclass that will contain
the core of the relocatable.bbclass, so we can reuse it.

In order for the SDK to be relocatable, the user would need to call a
setup script to change the binaries acordingly. Having an auto-extracting
archive has the advantage of being more user friendly and the user does
not have to call the setup script separately after extracting the SDK.
It is called automatically.

This patch is needed so that all SDK binaries have the PT_INTERP section
size set to 4096 (max path size in Linux) in order to be able to parse
the binaries later and change the interpreter to the path we want.

Modifying the dynamic loader path in all binaries by the SDK installer
would not be possible because we cannot know in advance the SDK target
location. Hence, the PT_INTERP section size has been set to 4096 (which
is the maximum path lengh in Linux).
Also, for the dynamic loader SYSDIRS and ld.so.cache paths, special
4096 bytes sections were allocated so that we can easily parse the ELF
binary at install time and modify the paths.

This issue is that with C++ compiler process an old version of kernel
header file, coincidently that file has a variable named 'new':
* 'embedded/qkbdtty_qws.cpp' include 'linux/vt.h';
* '/usr/include/linux/vt.h' has below code on SLED-11.x:
+ unsigned int new;
On mostly hosts it has been changed to: new -> newev.
