Frederik Schüler 4843eb07da - QLA2XXX options activated globally. 
- CONFIG_SCTP_HMAC_MD5=y set globally - or better default to CONFIG_SCTP_HMAC_SHA1=y?
- Memory model options removed from global config: every arch must set their memory model by arch/flavour now (FLATMEM, or DISCONTIGMEM on NUMA).
- new option: DEFAULT_IOSCHED="anticipatory" - everyone OK with this or better use the deadline scheduler?
- CONFIG_SPLIT_PTLOCK_CPUS must be set per-arch

Simon Horman 032be5ae05 * [386, AMD64] Set CONFIG_FRAMEBUFFER_CONSOLE=y instead of m. 
As vesadb now built into the kernel, after finally dropping the
    debian-specific patch to make it modular, make fbcons builtin too, else
    all sorts of weird stuff happens which is hard for the inird builders to
    automatically compenste for. (Closes: #336450)

Jurij Smakov 135b3a2c08 Config updates for 2.6.13. Main change I wanted 
to do is to enable HPET_EMULATE_RTC which fixes
309909. That required setting RTC=y instead of
RTC=m. Since it looks like I was the first person
to run split-config for 2.6.13, it also set a
bunch of unrelated options. I'll post to d-k to
make sure that this is a sane thing.

dann frazier 01f449cc55 * [ia64] Workaround #325070 until upstream works out an acceptable solution. 
This bug breaks module loading on non-SMP ia64 kernels.  The workaround
  is to temporarily use an SMP config for the non-SMP kernels.  (Note that
  John Wright is running benchmarks to determine the overhead of running
  an SMP kernel on UP systems to help decide if this should be a
  permanent change).

Simon Horman 784883e07f * Disable BSDv3 accounting on hppa and alpha, it was already 
disabled on all other architectures. Also unify BSD accounting
    config into top level config, rather than per flavour configs.
    This shows that BSD accounting is available on all except
    sparc and the rpc and s3c2410 flavours of arm.
    I am not sure if that is intentional.

Andres Salomon 604e655edd Unify NTFS config options; note that I've enabled NTFS_RW, since it is 
apparently "safe" (according to the docs).  If this is not the case on some
  architecture (ie, due to endian or 64bitness bugs), it should probably be
  disabled globally.  In the meantime, however, we'll give it a shot.

Andres Salomon 57c26b2c3b Move all CONFIG_CRYPTO options out into global config; this unifies 
CRYPTO_CONFIG modules for all archs except arm (which disables the crypto
stuff; i assume Vincent has a good reason for that..).  I left the md5
module compiled in statically, since most archs had it set that way; if
there's no reason for this, we can make it a module instead (I'm assuming
there's initrd-ish stuff that needs it?)

Kyle McMartin 2b2561fd32 hppa for linux-2.6 common source package. configs are up to date, some 
non-working drivers have been culled until they can be proven to work, so as
to not pollute the BTS with hppa-specific brokenness. more stuff will be
culled as i get the opportunity, hopefully. configs still need to be split.

Andres Salomon 810d8271f2 Add some description files for flavours. Basically, for each flavour, if 
'class' is set, then in the description, "@class@ class systems" will be
described; if class is not set, then the flavour name will be used.

Ie, if there's no desc.386, then "this kernel is for 386 class systems" will
show up in the description.

There's also @desc@ (see the s390 stuff for an example) that will be appended
to the description.

I haven't actually implemented this yet; please fill in what you need for
your pet architecture, and I'll do it tomorrow.

Andres Salomon 41715bfb19 default configs are autogenerated now; instead of doing a manual make defconfig, 
have kernel-package do it (--config def).  This requires kernel-package 9.002,
so add a versioned dep for all archs.  Also, drop any and all mentions of
default_config.

Jurij Smakov 1ecebf4256 Few changes to sparc32 config: 
* Disable initrd support (*sigh*). Enabling initrd
   breaks the boot and at this point it does not
   look like there is a simple fix.
 * Compile the disk and cdrom SCSI drivers in, so
   that we can actually boot without initrd.
 * Disable multiple LUN probing for SCSI
   devices, as it causes the SCSI driver go
   ballistic occasionally.
 * Remove the support for Emulex SCSI driver,
   since it is PCI and we don't have it on
   sparc32 anyway.
