The NT disk Signature is a unique 32-bit value in the MBR allowing
to identify a MSDOS partitioned disk. The signature can be used to
specify the Linux rootfs.
This patch adds support for the NT disk Signature in the form of a
device parameter which can both be read and written.

I'm not sure but I guess we don't need defined(__I386__) check.
I kept it for now.

Some drivers use blk->ops->read/write. This bypasses the caching block
layer and was never intended like this. The upper API to the block layer
is the cdev layer. This patch adds block_read and block_write functions
and uses them where appropriate.

This is a port of the official PLL errata workaround from Freescale.
The PLL's in the i.MX51 processor can go out of lock due to a metastable
condition in an analog flip-flop when used at high frequencies.
This workaround implements an undocumented feature in the PLL (dither
mode), which causes the effect of this failure to be much lower (in terms
of frequency deviation), avoiding system failure, or at least decreasing
the likelihood of system failure.
This is based on U-Boot commit:

This chipselect is used on RDK Zigbee connector. Since we cannot
define additional chipselect after SPI is initialized, define this one
in main SPI initialization in PCM038 SOM.

rebuilt if only sourcefiles from the pbl are changed.

If a device does not have bad blocks loop over the eraseblocks
in the driver instead of the core. This allows the mtd_dataflash
driver to erase blocks instead of pages to gain more speed during
erasing. Also the mtd_dataflash driver modifies the erase_info
struct which causes the outer loop in the core to never end.

Many cfi chips support 16 and 8 bit modes. Most important
difference is use of so called "Q15/A-1" pin. In 16bit mode this
pin is used for data IO. In 8bit mode, it is an address input
which add one more least significant bit (LSB). In this case
we should shift all adresses by one:
For example 0xaa << 1 = 0x154

On ARM the boarddirs are only cleaned due to the regular file
pattern search, but are not explicitly cleaned. This makes
it impossible to clean files which are not matched by a pattern
but have to be explicitly cleaned due to adding them to extra-y.
This patch changes the board-/board-y variables to += so that
we can use $(board-) to add it to common-. This way the board
directories are also cleaned.
While touching the board-y variables anyway order them
alphabetically.

lead to strange effects that the images depending on zbarebox.bin were
only built every second time. This uses the full path as target.
